I am a 45-year-old, broken daughter of God and a work in progress. I am passionate about encouraging women to embrace God’s grace and faithfulness as I discover and share His faithfulness, grace and even joy in the messiness of my journey as a recently widowed (9+ months ago), homeschooling mom with a missionary’s heart. I am in awe of how God fills me up and carries me through each day as a new widow and accident survivor. My Heavenly Father leads me as I continue to parent and homeschool our two recovering and very active boys; and encourage our beautiful teenage step-daughter (long distance) as she prepares to graduate from high school without her Daddy.
In every moment I see incredible evidence of God’s healing love, grace and faithfulness. I am blessed to be the creator, manager, and lead author of Unwrapping His Grace as I lean on my Savior to lead us in this special web-ministry.
Through it all, my relationship with the Lord and love of His Word has grown deeper. The Lord is carrying me and filling me with His peace and grace as I am being stretched, grown, healed and pushed out of my comfort zone in ways I never imagined. I am so blessed to be able to write about my journey and encourage women to always hang onto God through the challenges they are dealing with in their own lives. I love reading and studying His Word, and “doing life” with women like me who “don’t have it all together” and hunger for more of Him in our neighborhood, town, church, and on Unwrapping His Grace here and in daily discussion on our Facebook Page all for His Glory…for His power is made great in our weakness.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Youth Ministry with a Music Ministry Minor and enjoyed life as a full-time youth minister and Adult Christian Education Director and as retreat and seminar speaker in the late 1980s-1996. I have continued to enjoy ministry as a volunteer in music ministry, children’s ministry, drama ministry, and leading adult Bible Studies at different times in the years since then. I am prayerfully considering becoming a speaker again when/as the Lord leads me to share my testimony of His Faithfulness with Bible Studies, churches and retreats on a part-time basis as my health and time allow. I have blogged since 2009.

I am thankful to be on the journey of Hope to be found in the LORD and His Word. I am blessed to be married to my precious husband Randy and to be the full-time homeschooling mom of three kids: one teen girl, one pre-teen girl, and one son still in the single digits. My days are full and I am always trying to keep up with the details, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. When I have some free time, you will find me learning new allergy-free recipes, reading from the stack of books piling up in my room, working on a Bible study, plucking out a song on the piano, digging out my sewing machine to create something, or taking pictures.
As I approach 40, more and more I am humbled by the fact that I am learning to let more and more of myself go as I embrace more and more of Him. I am letting go of expectations, of people-pleasing, of fear, of playing the comparison game, of relying on anything else but His Grace; I am being emptied to be open to be filled with His Goodness. With every breath, word, and song, I pray to give Him Glory.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary English Education with a Music Education Minor and would like to get a Master’s Degree in Christian Ministry someday. I have been blogging since 2005 and when I am not writing here on Unwrapping His Grace or on the Unwrapping His Grace Facebook Page, I can be found blogging on Gina M. Weeks and on Gina M. Weeks- Reflections of Grace Ministries Facebook Page.
