The LORD spoke something so clearly into my spirit tonight as I was praying, preparing to write this post. He actually spoke these words into my heart to encourage me, and then urged me to share the blessing of His Hope with those of you who are reading this post.
I am praying for each one of you as you read – ponder – and then remember the words of encouragement that I hope to share with you.
Our country is in a holding pattern. Countless lives have been disrupted and so many people are scared of what is going to happen from day to day. The stress level in our communities, states, and government as a whole has gone up so very high. I don’t know of many people who aren’t or who won’t eventually be affected by our government shutting down while our leaders work the details out together.
I don’t know about you – but I have felt a deep stirring in my heart to pray for our leaders as a whole and then in detail for our Christian Leaders to truly live as lights in the darkness of our country, even at this time … especially at this time.
I am thankful that the LORD will never shut us out or stop taking care of us by running out of what we need more than anything else: HIM.
I was thinking about how many people are waiting on something right now. Many are waiting on being able to return to work. Even more are waiting on the government workers to get back to work to process paperwork for them. I don’t think that I am exaggerating when I think about the world as a whole, holding it’s breath to see America come back to life or crash and burn.
Some of you reading this post are waiting.
You may be sitting and waiting for another day to bring you closer to finding out if this is the month that you find a positive sign on your pregnancy test.
You may be waiting, counting down the days until your loved one returns from Afghanistan, safe and sound.
You are waiting on the news of a biopsy from the doctor’s office.
You are waiting for your loved one’s final release from pain, as you sit watch over their bedside and watch them take each breath that is bringing them closer to Heaven.
My heart also remembers how many others are constantly missing the loved ones already gone on ahead; now, each day is another day to get through and wait as they long to be reunited….
Different situations, different people, yes, but all waiting until “then” – – - Where are you in this? What are you waiting for?
I felt God stir my heart again to reach out to not only those of you waiting, but those of you waiting and holding on for dear life as the storm of all storms is swirling around you, threatening to hurl you from one place to another. You have been holding on for such a long time – and each time the wind whips wildly and the pain becomes more than you can bear, you feel like you can’t make it one more moment….
but then, somehow, you do….
My dear friend – I am right there with you. Each day seems like I am having to choose again and again to turn my eyes upon Jesus – and to rest in Him as I wait. I remember that He is my Anchor to keep me on firm footing in the middle of the storm. What a scary storm it can be when I look at it rather than at the One who can calm any storm.
I want to know why He has me in this place – but I haven’t been given the answer.
I do know that I can trust HIM, no matter what. He takes care of me, provides for my needs, and will walk with me through anything I will face. He is also willing and able to do the same for you.
10 Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you;
do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you;
yes, I will hold you up and retain you
with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.
Isaiah 41:10 (AMP)
While we wait, let’s get out of the rocking chairs
of worry and fear -
and take the Hand of the LORD
to keep walking forward in faith!
While the storm is raging around us,
threatening our very lives,
let’s remember to look only on the LORD
to find that His strength and help is more than enough
to hold us up and retain us.
You are safe in His arms.
He will never let you go.
In this time of waiting out the storm,
may you grow in His Grace
and become even more secure
in His Love and Care
God has blessed me with two songs
that keep me focused on Him and His love for me,
even as I wait in my own life.
May they also be a blessing to you:
To God be the Glory – - –
