The pure joy and excitement of the faith of children makes my heart so full. I have to share a very special little conversation that I so blessed to have with my little Michael (age 5) on our road trip to St. Louis when I was taking him to the hospital for his leg surgery in June.
We were driving on the highway and I had the windows open. He was in the backseat on the passenger side so that I could glance back and check on him if I needed to do that. His window was about a third of the way open at the time. All of a sudden he says my name with such excitement in his voice!
Me~~ “Yes, Michael. Are you OK?”
Michael~~ “Oh yes, I’m fine but you need to put your hand up to the window, Mommy! Do you feel it, Mommy?”
Me~~ “Feel what Michael?”
Michael~~ “Oh Mommy! I can feel God kissing me in the wind! Can you feel it Mommy? He’s here with us!”
Me~~ with tears in my eyes… “Oh wow, Michael! You are so right. I can feel it. Thank you for telling me!”
Michael~~ “God is so awesome Mommy!”
Me~~ “I agree, Michael. So awesome.”
Michael~~ “I love you, Mommy.”
Me~~ “I love you too, Michael.”
15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Mark 10: 15 NIV
I am so grateful for these powerful moments of sharing with my children. I learn so much from them every day. I pray you are encouraged today.
