It’s time for me to get real – to pull up a chair close to you, the readers here at Unwrapping His Grace, and share the story of where I am in my marriage, from my heart.
I know that my story isn’t entirely unique; there are other women walking a similar journey in their lives and marriages, but I pray that in sharing my story and the testimony of how God is growing me and deepening my marriage commitment, that my words will touch and bless you.
Some things may be hard for me to share. There may be things that I would rather keep to myself, but with God’s leading and my husband’s blessing, I will be gut-wrenchingly honest and transparent in sharing the joys mixed with the struggles in my life….
The Marriage Monday series for the next few weeks will center around building your marriage
through the trials of chronic pain or illness in a spouse.
In my case, I am the one with chronic illness and pain. I would be lying if I led you to believe that dealing with these challenges hasn’t impacted my marriage and family. It has created an opportunity for Randy and I to deepen our walk with the LORD and each other – - – but that hasn’t come easily or without struggle.
Perhaps you aren’t in a marriage defined in this way. If so, I praise GOD for that! I do pray, however, that in reading this series, you can gain compassion and understanding towards anyone with chronic illness and find ways to be a blessing to them, married or unmarried.
I pray that you will join me in the next few weeks as I explore and share my heart on this topic.
- Week one: Chronic Illness and Communication
- Week two: Chronic Illness and Finances
- Week three: Chronic Illness and Intimacy
- Week four: Chronic Illness and Family Responsibilities
Please feel free to send me an email message (email@example.com) or leave a comment below with your thoughts and suggestions for topics I can write about here in this weekly article regarding marriage.
I want to hear from you and seek God’s Heart for future topics of our articles in seeking to be relevant and a blessing to you in your personal struggles and joys as a wife and woman of God.
We also have a private Marriage Group for Christian Wives on Facebook! Membership is open to any woman seeking God’s blessing and encouragement in her role as a wife. I pray you will join us there for daily support and sisterhood in building your marriage.
13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. 14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] (Galatians 5:13-14)
