Introducing Recycled Memories— Review and Giveaway!!!

After I met Janice through our birthday giveaway for Gina Marie in February, I had the blessing of browsing through her product photos in her etsy store and on her Facebook page.  I love what this special lady creates!!!  After contacting her to tell her what she had won, she shared with me that she went to college with Gina Marie’s husband!  Now that is a small world!  I love how God works!

I asked Janice to share with me a bit about her business, Recycled Memories…

Her business officially began about a year ago but she has been crafting most of her life. It started with scrapbook and card making embellishments. When she was unable to find the items for topics she was scrapbooking she just started making them herself!  Once her friends saw what she’d made for herself, they began requesting items for themselves.

When she realized that people really did want and need what she was creating, she started selling at local craft shows and that led her to go online and open an Etsy store. Her Etsy store site is janylane.etsy.com. About a year ago she started my Facebook page which links to the Etsy store and Pinterest. Her Facebook page can be found at www.facebook.com/recycledmemoriesbyjan. You will have a blast looking through all of the creative things she has made and can make!

Scrapbooking embellishments from Recycled Memories

After creating scrapbook stickers and page borders she started making embellishments from crochet thread.

This began with tiny flowers and now includes owls and butterflies.

Her love for scarves began her inspiration for making floral chains. These can be made in any color combination and look great by themselves or mixed with a favorite scarf. How much fun is that?!

She also makes paper bead jewelry. She hand crafts each bead!!!!  And I can tell you that they really are this beautiful and they come in a pretty little draw string bag and a note on how to care for it and a satisfaction guarantee!  I love the one she sent us!!!

Now friends, this is what makes her unique! Both of those were inspired by looking for a use for leftover paper once a scrapbook project was finished. With the high cost of scrapbook paper, she hated to just throw away the smaller pieces that could still be possibly used for something else. And that’s when the name of her business was born: Recycled Memories.
I love that she not only recycles the paper, but often uses them in items that will either be used in a memory scrapbook or to create an heirloom of other sorts. She is hoping to begin including household items in the near future. This would include quilts, quilted items, doilies, re-purposed bottles and more!
I was SO blessed to receive a special Recycled Memories goodie package in the mail over the weekend so that I could see these beautiful creations myself…and share with Gina Marie too!
Recycled Memories 1I have to say her products really did live up to what I saw on my computer screen and I can’t wait to use my note cards!  Each card is so unique because she makes them individually by hand.  No two are exactly the same!
And the paper bead bracelet is so pretty and come with a satisfaction guarantee. I decided that I need to send it to Gina Marie as a special birthday gift since we discovered Janice’s Recycled Memories business when she entered Gina Marie’s birthday giveaway!  She was thrilled.

    Wow, what a neat store. I simply love your cards. That’s one of my passions. I love sending cards for any reason, just give me one and you’ll probably get a card from me. It’s so personal. It’s not something everyone does anymore. Most people send cards on facebook or another way. I like to send them the old timey way, snail mail. It means more and people know you are thinking of them.
