Prayer takes many forms…Each One is a Beautiful Gift

Prayer takes so many forms…each one is such a beautiful gift!

My family has been covered in prayer by amazing individuals, couples, families, teams, churches, communities from all over the world over the past six months.

I am in awe of each prayer.

I want to thank each one of you for all of your prayers.

God has brought us through SO much. We are living evidence of miracles.

Your prayers and encouragement have meant more to me and my family than I can ever express in words.

I am so grateful for the gift of prayer.  I am so grateful for and so humbled by all of the prayers sent to the Lord on our behalf by so many, many caring, loving people…friends, family, strangers, readers, prayer warriors covering us each and every day through this incredibly painful time in our lives.

Gift of Visual Prayer for me created/prayed by Michelle Pendergrass.

A couple of weeks ago, I received a very special prayer in the mail.  It was a Visual Prayer from my friend and gifted Visual Prayer artist, Michelle Pendergrass.  The love and prayer that went into it took my breath away.  There is so much to take in…every time I take it my hands and reflect and pray while looking at it I find more and more of God’s encouragement and love shining through the beauty of the art…of the Scripture, of the creativity and pray poured into it.

I never dreamed I would hold a Visual Prayer created by her in my own hands that she prayed and created for me.  I am honored and so blessed by it and her and her many prayers.  Thank you, Michelle.

It was Michelle who encouraged me to start allowing myself to begin enjoying the healing and powerful gift of Visual Prayer myself to create what my heart spoke to God and what God spoke to my heart on the canvas or paper before me a little over a year ago.

It is this gift of Visual Prayer that has inspired some of the pages of my “Blessing Journal”.

It is the gift of Visual Prayer that I will be immersing myself in as I create my own collage prayer of my word and Scripture for 2013.

Creating Prayer Art has been hard for me to return to since the accident…until recently…and it has been soooo healing.

On Fridays, as a part of the Blessing Journal Series, I will, from time to time, share my own Visual Prayers or Prayer Art with all of you.  Each person creates and prays in their own ways.  No way is better than another.

Each of your prayers are beautiful and amazing and so humbling to know you have lifted them up on our behalf.

Thank you isn’t enough.

I may not know each of your names to be able to thank you personally.  But please know…I thank you.  We thank you.

And you are in my prayers.

About the author

Mary Joy

I am a broken daughter of God and a work in progress. I am passionate about encouraging women to embrace God's grace and faithfulness as I discover and share His faithfulness, grace and even joy in the messiness of my journey as a widowed (less than 2 yrs), homeschooling mom with a missionary's heart. I am in awe of how God fills me up and carries me through each day. My Heavenly Father leads me as I continue to parent and home school my two recovering and very active boys and encourage my beautiful teenage step-daughter (long distance) during her first year in of college. In every moment I see incredible evidence of God's healing love, grace and faithfulness. I am so blessed to be the creator, manager, and an author of Unwrapping His Grace as I lean on my Savior to lead us in this special web-ministry.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a visual prayer thing. But I love how she incorporated the part about God wiping the tears away from your eyes. What a sweet promise of our Lord’s that will remind you!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Her visual prayers are really amazing. Here is a link to her website. http://visualprayer.com/ I know what you mean about the Scripture she included in it. God’s promise is so real and I rejoice with Will having that experience right now with God and with how God is carrying me through at the same time. I am so blessed by so many praying for me and us…in so many different ways.
