Happy Second Sunday of Advent!!! I had a wonderful day with Annie and my parents yesterday. Annie, our 16 year old daughter, was with us for her weekend visit and my parents came down to have an early Christmas visit with us. It all went very well…the adults had a very nice visit and the children had a blast playing games and with trains with Grandma and Grandpa! Such a blessed day! We are enjoying our time with Annie all weekend too. She is such a sweet young woman with a deep love for God and serving Him in her life! It is so good to talk with her and be able to hug her neck in person!
I am especially looking forward to church today because our church’s children’s choirs (there are four divided into age groups) are working together to put on a Christmas Musical and they will be performing it during our service time! One of my favorite things is listening to and watching the excitement of children sharing the story of Jesus’ birth!!!!
I hope you all have a very special Sunday, today, as we all prepare our hearts for the coming of our Savior! The weeks of Advent are a wonderful time to prepare ourselves for Christmas but to also prepare ourselves for the special role that God has prepared especially for each one of us! We look at our own hearts and lives to determine how ready we are to really say “Yes” to God. A very important part of being ready to welcome our Savior can become an important part of focusing on spending our lives serving others.
Here is the verse for today…it is one of my favorites!
Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
Matthew 4:16 (NRSV)

I invite you to join me for Week Two of my Advent Bible Study/Devotion on Tuesday, December 6…

If you missed the first article in the Advent Bible Study of Luke 1:26-38, The ‘Yes’ that Changed Everything…”Highly Favored”, I encourage you to check it out. I hope it blesses you.
Unwrapping His Grace,
**Suggested readings were taken from the November-December 2011 “The Upper Room” Devotional.**
