Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, dear friends!!!

I posted this a little early because I will be spending Thanksgiving morning with my family watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV while we finish up our Thanksgiving Turkey hand print cards for grandparents.  Late morning we will pile in the car and head out to my in-laws house to celebrate Thanksgiving with Will’s family for the day.  We will return home in the evening ready to snuggle under comfy blankets in our living room while we watch our favorite Thanksgiving specials/movies.

On Friday, we will be relaxing at home as we watch Christmas movies, put up our Christmas tree and finish making our Jesse Tree Ornaments as we prepare for the first Sunday of Advent this Sunday…while we drink lots of hot cocoa and iced tea!  I will take lots of pictures and share some with you on Saturday…after all, you are a special part of our family!

I will be taking tomorrow and Friday away from the on-line world…

but before I do, I wanted to share something with you!

Know that you will all be in my prayers during this Thanksgiving Day and weekend.

The lyrics to this song by Brianna Haynes touched my heart and I wanted to share it with you as my Thanksgiving Blessing.

May we remember to thank our God for all of the big things in our lives…but to also remember all of the every day blessings we encounter in the ordinary, every day moments of our lives.

May God bless each one of us.

May He touch our hearts and lives in a powerful way this Thanksgiving Day.

May we take the time to come before Him with thanks and praise!

May the joy and grace He fills us with overflow and touch the lives of…

our families

our friends

our neighbors

our communities.

May every thing we do give honor and glory to our amazing Savior.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
   and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!

 5 For the LORD is good;
   his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100:4-5 ESV

Orange and yellow autumn leaves
Falling from the colored trees
Outside of your thanksgiving feast
Family favorites in the air
A time to give, a time to share
The love you have is everywhere
To love, to life, to hope, to dreams
To all whose thankful hearts you bring

Thank You for the air I breathe
Thank You for the love I need
Thank You for the joy inside of me
You give us hope, You plant the seed
You harvest every heart in need
Thank You for the love you’ve given me

Special people by your side
Open fires and pumpkin pies
The years they catch you by surprise
The seasons joy is at your door
There’s so much to be grateful for
So much you have and there is so much more
To faith to friends to joy to cheer
To celebrate another year

All the beauty on this planet
Every moment took for granted
Here’s the chance to get it right
All the blessings you’ve been handed
Every memory life makes candid
Here’s to living here’s to life

You hold me up when I can reach
You give me strength when I’m too weak
Thank You for the love you’ve given me
Thank You

About the author

Mary Joy

I am a broken daughter of God and a work in progress. I am passionate about encouraging women to embrace God's grace and faithfulness as I discover and share His faithfulness, grace and even joy in the messiness of my journey as a widowed (less than 2 yrs), homeschooling mom with a missionary's heart. I am in awe of how God fills me up and carries me through each day. My Heavenly Father leads me as I continue to parent and home school my two recovering and very active boys and encourage my beautiful teenage step-daughter (long distance) during her first year in of college. In every moment I see incredible evidence of God's healing love, grace and faithfulness. I am so blessed to be the creator, manager, and an author of Unwrapping His Grace as I lean on my Savior to lead us in this special web-ministry.
