“Thankful Thursdays” Linky Party…Favorite Thanksgiving posts and ideas!

(This was posted while the blog was Learning to Live a Surrendered Life before the transformation to Unwrapping His Grace.  Please keep that in mind while you read it.)

Welcome to our last “Thankful Thursday” for 2011!!!

I am thankful for so many things…but today, I especially thankful for my amazing husband!  He believes in me, encourages me, supports me, listens to me, leads me (especially by his example), teaches me new things (especially about computers!), and he poured belief into me when it came to my writing and blogging before I ever dared to dream I could ever do it…more than 3 years ago when I began guest blogging on his former blog.

Tomorrow I will be sharing more about the new things that are happening here on Learning to Live a Surrendered Life!

Today, as we prepare for Thanksgiving…here are some of my favorite Thanksgiving Posts that I found around the web…places I found encouragement in giving thanks, focusing on His Word about Thanksgiving, recipes, decorating ideas and crafts for Thanksgiving as well!

Be sure to share your own Thanksgiving Posts or ideas in the comments if you are a reader not a blogger!  I can’t wait to hear all about them!

Here are some of my favorite Thanksgiving posts this week!

Reflections of His Grace is hosting Thirty Days of Thanksgiving as she shares what the Lord is teaching her about Thanksgiving in His Word!  It is a must read series!

I have to mention Anita’s heart breaking/heart rejoicing story of giving thanks in their family this week as their young son was rushed to the ER and her story of being thankful for Epi-Pens, Ambulances, EMTs and Emergency Rooms!

I found this great site called Caboose Crafts!  I just love their ideas for kids and adults to make.  These turkeys were just adorable!

I loved this Thank You Project from firstpalette.com!!  What an easy turkey to make with your kids and then I really love how they fill it with thank you notes to family members to share on Thanksgiving Day!  What a neat way to thank special people in our lives and get our kids creating and writing thank you notes!

OK…I just met Merissa on her wonderful blog Little House on the Prairie Living this week!  Her blog is a must read!  Wow!  Her personal story is so amazing and inspiring!  Today I wanted to share her pumpkin pie recipe that she got from her grandmother when she was twelve years old.  This time she shares how she makes it in jars!  I love the tradition and legacy of passing down favorite family recipes to our children and grandchildren!  What a beautiful way to pass down memories and stories of the special people in our lives!

So now it is your turn!  Please share your favorite Thanksgiving ideas and posts in the comments or by sharing your blog posts in the Linky Party!  And be sure to stop by and check out the blogs and websites I shared today and let them know that I sent you!  Let’s encourage and support one another in our journeys!

All I ask is that when you link up your article in our Thankful Thursdays Linky Party that you link your article to our party by mentioning that you are joining in the party somewhere in or at the end of your own article.  Thanks, Ladies!

God bless each and every one of you!

Be sure to pour a cup of tea or cocoa and come back the rest of this week for…

FridayA New Direction in the Dance with Grace…

About the author

Mary Joy

I am a broken daughter of God and a work in progress. I am passionate about encouraging women to embrace God's grace and faithfulness as I discover and share His faithfulness, grace and even joy in the messiness of my journey as a widowed (less than 2 yrs), homeschooling mom with a missionary's heart. I am in awe of how God fills me up and carries me through each day. My Heavenly Father leads me as I continue to parent and home school my two recovering and very active boys and encourage my beautiful teenage step-daughter (long distance) during her first year in of college. In every moment I see incredible evidence of God's healing love, grace and faithfulness. I am so blessed to be the creator, manager, and an author of Unwrapping His Grace as I lean on my Savior to lead us in this special web-ministry.
